Meagan Vargas is the Owner of Vargas Paralegal & Notary Public Services, LLC, a comprehensive and cost effective Paralegal, Mediator and Notary Public Services firm based in the Greater Baltimore and Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
Meagan brings experience and Georgetown University education to her clients born of a career that has included Congress, Senate, the White House, public policy, political campaigns, corporate affairs, and the State of Maryland Office of the Public Defender. Meagan established herself as a senior government official with over 15 years’ experience.
Meagan is the former White House Special Assistant and White House Political Appointee to President George W. Bush, where she coordinated, planned, and supported daily operations for the United States Department of Energy and the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness. Meagan was responsible for providing legislative and strategic advice to the President, Vice President, Cabinet, and White House Senior staff on all issues relating to working with Members of Congress and State & Local Officials to enact priorities and policy objectives on Energy, Small Business, Homelessness, and Hispanic issues. Meagan was also on the Advance Team for Vice President Cheney.
In addition, Meagan was one of the key participants assisting the White House and the United States Department of Commerce in the establishment of the Hurricane Contracting Information Center providing small and disadvantaged businesses, as well as local Gulf Coast businesses, input into the Federal contracting process during Hurricane Katrina and Rita. She was the only one chosen on behalf of the United States Department of Energy to be assigned to the White House Hurricane Contracting Presidential Detail.
Prior to working for the White House, Meagan worked up on Capitol Hill from 1999-2001 as an Aide to Former United States Senator Spencer Abraham (R-MI). She handled correspondence for five separate committees Senator Abraham sat on, and various issues within their respective jurisdictions including: Judiciary, Immigration, Small Business, Energy, and Banking. Meagan began her career in the Federal Government in 1997 as an Intern for United States Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI).
Most recently, Meagan was a Paralegal at the State of Maryland Office of Public Defender.
Meagan holds a B.A. in Political Science from Western Michigan University, a Paralegal Studies Certificate from Georgetown University, and a Project Management Certificate from the University of Maryland Baltimore College.
